The River Ridge Learning Center is a non-profit, 501(c)(3) organization which began as an idea within a discussion between the CEO of America Place, Jim Karp, and the River Ridge Development Authority. With the initiative, Karp set out to create a center that not only benefitted the businesses and workers of River Ridge, but also their children who will be the workers of tomorrow.
Within the River Ridge Learning Center, there will be an Early Learning Academy (ELA) and an Adult Training Center (ATC). Ultimately, the ELA will provide a progressive educational program for children aged 6 weeks - 5 years old; whereas, the ATC will have the main focus of training new employees and up-skilling current employees for better opportunities. Phase I will begin with the ELA and serve up to 55 children, ages 2 - 5 years old. Then, Phase II will expand the program of the ELA to serve infants/toddlers and gradually increase enrollment, up to 400 children, as well as the grand opening of the ATC.
