Grand Opening of River Ridge Learning Center Inc.

The River Ridge Learning Center Inc. a non-profit, 501(c)(3) organization began as an idea between the CEO of America Place, Jim Karp, and the River Ridge Development Authority. Karp's vision was to create a high quality childcare center, The Academy at River Ridge, run by educated and experienced staff, to benefit the businesses and employees at River Ridge, and its surrounding community.

This vision became a reality when the doors to The Academy at River Ridge was opened, October 2021. Since opening we have seen the following accomplishments;

  • Childcare Licensure two to five years old
  • Degreed teachers in all our classrooms
  • Child Care and Development Fund (CCDF) provider.
  • On My Way Pre-K (OMWPK) provider
  • Paths to Quality Level 3 status
  • Child and Adult Care Food Program (CACFP) provider pending
  • Looking to expand and provide services to infants and young toddlers (12 months to 23 months)
  • A great reputation in our community for high quality services

"we are more than just a Daycare, we offer exceptional education and services to the children and families enrolled, our vision is supporting all children on the pathway to success." Program Director

Mr. Karp's second vision is to offer an Adult Training Center with the  main focus of training new employees and up-skilling current employees for better job opportunities.

"Fear is useless. What is needed is trust. As social innovators we've got to be tenacious, gritty, and courageous. We deal with cynicism and rejection, especially when what we're working on is important. So we can never give up. Ever." (Jim Ziolkowski)
